I feel lucky to have known him

It's been a few years since Theresa and I last saw Aaron. It's hard to believe that it's been so long, but that’s the funny thing about good friends. It doesn't matter how much time passes between visits. You just pick up where you left off...and it feels like yesterday, almost like no time has passed at all. Aaron was a good friend and I feel lucky to have known him. We lost a good one.
Looking back, some of my best memories include Aaron. To share a few is hard, but I know some of you remember that road trip up to DC to catch the Dead on their last tour. What a great time…..with the best of friends. I also got to tour the Biltmore Mansion with Aaron. We were on our way back from River Guide Party in Tennessee and ended up in Ashville N.C. To this day, I have no idea how we missed the turn to Atlanta, but it made for a funny story.
Theresa and I also had the pleasure of spending some time with Aaron out in Mill Valley. We were planning a trip to San Francisco and I gave him a call to let him know we’d be in town. I had hoped we could do dinner and catch up on things, but that wasn’t Aaron’s way. He wanted us to spend a few nights in San Francisco, get the “Tourist Attractions” out of the way, and hook up later in the week. He immediately invited us to stay at his home and dropped everything to show us his favorite places in city, the wine country and in Mill Valley. It was a great trip. We’ll always remember his hospitality and the good times we shared.

Our hearts go out to his family and friends.
